Token Utility & Real Revenue Accrual

Real utility, real revenue, real value accrual.

$NOON is designed to capture real financial value generated by the Noon Protocol. Holding and staking $NOON bridges two critical functions: active governance control and direct participation in protocol cash flows.

1. Governance Utility: Decisive Protocol Control

$NOON is the central decision-making mechanism for the protocol. Governance rights are held by stakers ($sNOON), ensuring that protocol parameters are directed by committed participants rather than speculative traders.

$sNOON holders vote on core protocol operations, including new deployment strategy approvals.

Time-Weighted Governance: Voting power is non-linear. The longer a user stakes $NOON (up to 48 months), the higher their voting multiplier—ensuring long-term community members hold decisive authority.

2. Real Revenue Accrual: The Dual-Fund Flywheel

Noon routes up to 20% of total raw protocol returns into two protective, value-accruing funds that systematically feed open-market $NOON buybacks.

A. The Noon Insurance Fund (10% Allocation)

  1. Monthly Inflow: 10% of total raw protocol returns are allocated monthly to the Insurance Fund in liquid stablecoins ($USDC / $USDT).

  2. Seasoning Period: Funds are held in reserve for 12 months to act as a buffer against strategy drawdowns or daily volatility.

  3. Automated Buyback Execution: After the 12-month seasoning period, unutilized funds are released to buy back $NOON on the open market.

  4. Staker Distribution: Purchased $NOON tokens are distributed pro-rata to $sNOON stakers.

B. The Noon Operations Fund (10% Allocation)

  1. Monthly Inflow: 10% of total raw protocol returns fund protocol operations, development, and audits.

  2. Operational Runway Buffer: The Operations Fund maintains a strict 12-month operational runway.

  3. Monthly Surplus Sweeps: Any reserve balance exceeding the 12-month runway is automatically swept into the Insurance Fund at month-end.

  4. Buyback Acceleration: Swept operational funds follow the Insurance Fund workflow, buying back $NOON from the open market for distribution to stakers.

3. The Programmatic Token Buyback Mechanism

The buyback engine generates persistent, non-dilutive buy-side pressure on the $NOON token:

  • Asset Backing: Buybacks are funded purely through organic stablecoin revenue generated by protocol collateral.

  • Auto-Compounding Utility: Once $NOON buyback rewards are distributed to stakers, users can re-stake those tokens into Open Staking to compound their yield and voting power.

Historical Buyback Record

Noon maintains a fully transparent, on-chain record of all executed token buybacks:
